the batman 2021

The super anticipated new Batman movie has finally released a trailer and it full of great things. All the fans who criticized DC’s choice for Bruce Wayne will shut up after watching the trailer. So sit tight and start getting excited about the new trilogy of “The Batman”. The world needs another Batman movie. A movie that takes a new dig at DC’s favorite hero. The Batman is looking fresh and exciting and it’s solely because of the cast. Let’s explore that further below.

As a long-lasting DC fan, I am pretty hyped up about the movie as the cast is brilliantly chosen. No more stalling and let’s get into the trailer and all you can know about the latest Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.

  • Release Date: October 1, 2021 (Based on Several Media Reports)
  • Director: Matt Reeves
  • Cast: Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, and Andy Serkis

The Batman Movie Trailer

On August 22, at DC FanDome, we finally got the first teaser of The Batman. All we can say is that the trailer is Dark, Grim, and super Emo. From the very beginning, the trailer seems different than what all of us have seen below.

Matt Reeves take on the Gotham city seems new and unlike all the adaptation we have seen before. Let’s just say that Matt Reeves tried to do things differently and he was able to do so. The story feels more grounded and the ears of Catwoman seem more simple and better than any other adaptation. The ears are a result of a ski mask, not some silico-rubber mask.

Let’s move onto the Villain, Paul Dano’s The Riddler looks more like a serial killer rather than a costume-wearing puzzle-loving villain. Colin Farell is playing the role of “The Penguin” who looks like just a regular guy, not a disfigured monster, which some fans may not like. And the Catwoman played by Zoe Kravtiz is shown as a thief. The whole teaser is shown a little heightened, same as a murder thriller movie. This is something DC fans have been asking for years.

The Complete Trailer Breakdown

The craft, as displayed in the trailer promises something wholly different. Cinematographer Greig Fraser has enormous experience in creating a capturing world in the films. Some examples of those are “Rogue One” and the upcoming movie “Dune.” The dimly lit and grim atmosphere in “The Batman” trailer seems something out of a DC comic book. The DC universe is famous for being dark in comparison to the fun-loving Marvel universe. The Batman feels dark and lived-in yet haunting in a good way.

The one scene that stands out of the whole trailer is the scene where Batman (Robert Pattinson) beats and breaks the arm of a goon. The scene stands out because it’s shot in a single go, Matt Reeves in all his movies doesn’t rely on the quick cut or shaky camera to dull the effect of the violence portrayed on the screen.

As long as we are on the topic, we don’t see much of The Batman in action in the movie but the trailer clears out one question fans have been asking for years. “Does Batman wears Eye shadow under the Mask?” In several scenes, we saw Batman with Eye shadow around his eyes. Which hints at the fact that the movie will be full of small details.

The Batman Movie Timeline

We’re sure you’ve asked yourself already “Which timeline/ time period this movie will follow?” Well according to the trailer, the movie will take place two years after Bruce Wayne puts on the mantle of Batman. This will be a good change as the movie won’t revolve around Batman’s origin story anymore. Almost all the fans, whether they’ve read the comics or not, know about Batman’s origin story. In terms of an origin story, Batman is as famous as Spiderman. If you don’t know about Batman’s origin, then that one’s on you.

In the movie, we see that Batman is still in his beginning stage as he is working alongside the Gothom police department and helping them solve crimes. All of us know that Batman gets his reputation as the world’s best detective but in this movie, we will see all that in action. He’s following up on murders committed by The Riddler.

Batman Movie’s New Joker?

The Joker is one of the most impactful villains of Batman’s life and Matt Reeves made it clear that he will be revealing a brand new joker in “The Batman Trilogy.” But the scenario will be a bit different as the Joker won’t start terrorizing the town in a single go. According to Matt Reeves, Joker may appear in both second and third movies, as one of the movies is expected to have multiple villains. There are, however no reports on who will be the new Joker.

A lot of fans have asked these questions since the announcement of the new Batman Movie. The director of the epic movie “The Joker” Todd Phillips claimed that his character will not appear in “The Batman.” Pattinson confirmed the news in an interview.

We are not sure about the second scenario as Matt Reeves said in an award show “There are ways in which all of this connects to DC, to the DC universe as well. We’re one of many pieces and so I don’t want to comment on that except to say I’m focused very specifically on just this aspect of the DC world.”

So we can’t do anything but speculate about it till the movie hits the theatre in October 2021.
